4 Day & 3 Night Sonoma County Casual Hybrid Self-guided Bike Tour

Tour start and finish in Santa Rosa

We meet in Santa Rosa on the morning of your tour start and provide you with all the equipment and information that you’ll need for your trip. We'll fit you to your bike, outfit you with your gear and provide a custom created trip package that will include maps, route descriptions and area information. We'll take the time to review the route with you, give personal tips and advice and answer any questions you may have. After that you'll be traveling on your own, but we'll always be just a phone call away. Your rooms will be reserved and your luggage transferred and your mind at rest.

Barn in Sonoma County seen on a California Bike Tour.Day One: You'll find yourself heading west on the Santa Rosa Creek Bike Trail. As you cross the flat Santa Rosa Plain, the Mayacamas Mountains will be at your back and the Coastal Range will be rising in front of you. You'll turn north before you hit the hills and cross the Russian River on old Wohler Bridge. Winding up the west side of the valley, you'll pass through the historic Sweetwater Springs area and then on to Healdsburg. You'll have passed through apple orchards, organic farms, 3 different wine appellations, and innumerable glorious views. You'll arrive in Healdsburg to enjoy a stroll around the Spanish style plaza and dinner at an outstanding local restaurant.

Lake Sonoma seen on cycling vacation in CaliforniaDay Two: Healdsburg Loop (no minimum ride distance). Discover the Dry Creek Valley with its 100 year old Zinfandel vines, family run wineries and quiet curving roads; it's a pastoral paradise. If you're a wine lover this is your chance to experience the terroir of the Dry Creek and taste the wines of the local boutique vintners. Whether it's the "Classic" 20 mile loop or an extended ride, you'll see why many people think of Healdsburg as cycling heaven. You’ll spend a second evening at your Healdsburg lodging and we will be happy to help you choose a great restaurant to round out your day.

Day Three: Healdsburg to Santa Rosa. (20-35 miles). Heading west from Healdsburg you'll cross the south end of the Alexander Valley passing the famous Jimtown Country Store and numerous wineries including Sausal, Alexander Valley and Fieldstone. At the east side of the valley you'll turn right and head south through the Chalk Hill appellation to the Windsor Plain. A loop back around to the west takes you past Russian Hill, Slusser Vineyards and onto the Santa Rosa Creek Bike Trail. Before you know it you'll be back in the Old Railroad Square area sipping a coffee at Aroma Roasters.

Day Four: Take a casual morning ride out the Joe Rodato Trail to the nuclear free town of Sebastopol for coffee or farther into the West County on a customized ride for more adventure before departing.
