Tour start and finish in Santa Rosa:

Your tour begins with a bike fitting and orientation by one or our professional guides at your lodging in Santa Rosa. We'll take the time to review the route with you, give personal tips and advice and answer any questions you may have. After that you'll be traveling on your own, but we'll always be just a phone call away. Your rooms will be reserved and your luggage transferred and your mind at rest.

Couplecoast200

Day One: Apple Country, Coastal Range and the Pacific Ocean

Santa Rosa to Bodega Bay (approximately 40 miles) Head west: through the vineyards and old apple country of the Graton area before climbing into the coastal range and the town of Occidental.  We’ll recommend lunch at one of our favorite cafes before tackling Coleman Valley Road to the coast. Considered by many to be one of the most spectacular roads for cycling in the world, its few challenging climbs are rewarded with a lifetime of memories.   Breathtaking views from the bluff and quick descent take you to the edge of the continent where you’ll make a left and head for the iconic fishing village of Bodega Bay.

ArmstrongDay Two: Pacific Coast, Armstrong Redwoods and Russian River Valley

Bodega Bay to Healdsburg (approximately 45 miles). Heading north on Hwy One: along the ocean bluff to the mouth of the Russian River, huge rocks and crashing waves abound.  Descend down to a secluded beach to visit with the seals sunning on the shore, or scratch your back on the mammoth rocks, before following the Russian River inland through the ranches and redwoods to the Town of Guerneville. Take a short side trip to the Armstrong Woods Redwood Preserve and be dwarfed by thousand year old trees in nature’s cathedral.  From there you’ll have the classic choice -- over the mountain or around the mountain? If you choose "over" you'll experience the steep and spectacular Sweetwater Springs Road or if you go around, then perhaps lunch and a tour at Korbel "Champagne" Cellars? Either way you’ll spend your afternoon rolling past organic farms, vineyards and artisanal wineries; before finishing your day with an amazing meal and stroll around the historic Healdsburg Plaza.

CouplelakesonomaDay Three: Healdsburg & The Dry Creek Valley

Healdsburg Loop (no minimum ride distance). Discover the Dry Creek Valley with its 100 year old Zinfandel vines, family run wineries and quiet curving roads; it's a pastoral paradise. You'll have options from a casual 25 mile winery tour to the challenge of climbing to the Lake Sonoma Lookout. Pick up a picnic lunch at the Dry Creek Country Store and enjoy it at a nearby winery while tasting a classic Zinfandel. It's beautiful; it's pastoral and its bicycle touring at its best. You’ll see why Healdsburg is known as “cycling heaven”.

Vineyard RidersDay Four: Alexander Valley, Chalk Hill and Santa Rosa

Healdsburg to Santa Rosa (approximately 40 miles). Heading west from Healdsburg you'll cross the south end of the Alexander Valley passing the famous Jimtown Country Store and numerous wineries including Sausal, Alexander Valley and Fieldstone. At the east side of the valley you'll turn right and head south through the Chalk Hill appellation to the Windsor Plain. A loop back around to the west takes you past Russian Hill, Slusser Vineyards and onto the Santa Rosa Creek Bike Trail. Before you know it you'll be back in the Old Railroad Square area sipping a coffee at Aroma Roasters.
