Luxury Escape Sonoma County, California Bike Tour

Day one consists of our Classic Wine Country Bike Tour which leaves from our Touring Center in Healdsburg at 10:00am. We casually ride through the Dry Creek Valley stopping occasionally to visit some of our favorite local wineries. Your guide may take you for a short walk among some 90 year old vines or stop to share a vista. If you're a wine lover you'll get a rare chance to handle the dirt, inspect the vines and taste the wines of the Dry Creek Valley.
By early afternoon we'll be ready for lunch and our Sonoma style picnic will be waiting! It is our belief that a great bike tour requires great food and since this is Sonoma County, you can expect locally grown, organic, fresh made and plenty of it!
After lunch we'll continue our bicycle tour to another winery or two, stop for some more scenic views and make our way back to town (and your awaiting spa/massage treatment) by about 3:30 pm.
The route is mostly flat quiet country roads and is designed for riders of any ability. The total riding distance is less than 25 miles and we will be riding Trek hybrid style bikes. These bikes have a nice casual upright riding position, very comfortable seats and are surprisingly easy to pedal. Whether you're an avid cyclist or a beginner, there is no better way to experience the sight, sound, smell and taste of the Dry Creek Valley.
Day two will consist of a custom designed self guided tour. When making your reservation we will discuss your preferences and create a tour outline. During the course of your first days tour we will take the opportunity to learn more about your interests and abilities. At the end of the tour we will finalize your self guided route for the second day and provide you with maps, directions and suggested stops along with other necessary and interesting information. Two favorite second day rides are the Alexander Valley and Russian River Valley. Both of these can be reached by riding right from Healdsburg. If, however, you wish to explore another area, we can provide you with a car rack to transport your bikes to the starting point of your ride. Although you will be on your own for the day you don't need to worry, should you ever need assistance our support van will be only a phone call away!
Lodging:
Check-in time generally begins at 4:00 pm the evening prior to your first days tour, however, you may choose to arrive in town early on the morning of your first tour and remain the night after your second. Wine tasting nightly in the "speakeasy".
Meals:
Fine dining is a big part of the Wine Country experience and Sonoma County dining is all about fresh, locally produced and true gourmet without pretension. One night you'll dine at a restaurant carefully chosen (we love doing this kind of "research"!) to give you a wonderful taste of the Sonoma Wine Country. Your meal is included in the package and you may select right from the menu. For your second dinner (not included) we will help you choose (if you'd like us to!) a restaurant to indulge your personal tastes.
You'll also enjoy a wonderful homemade breakfast each morning at your Inn and our wonderful Sonoma style picnic lunch on your first day's tour. On your self-guided tour you will be responsible for your lunch, but we will recommend an appropriate stop.

Massage/Spa Treatment:
At the end of your first day tour, total relaxation awaits you in the form of a 50 minute massage treatment.

$850 per person for two days & nights (based on double occupancy-weekdays) add $30 pp for each Friday or Saturday night.
$1050 per person for three days & nights (based on double occupancy-weekdays) add $30 pp for each Friday or Saturday night.

Rates are for The Grape Leaf Inn's Cabernet Sauvignon, Gamay Rose, Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Noir rooms and are dependent upon availability- upgrade to any other available room $70 per night.
